The ICAO European Regional Aviation Security Training Centre was established at the National Aviation University in December 1996. It is one of world Centres that carry out the training process in the field of aviation security under the auspices of ICAO. The main aim of the Centre is training and upgrading of airlines personnel for provision of civil aviation safe operation. In 1998 the Centre received the International Certificate, which gives the ability to train personnel of all categories of aviation companies and airports in the field of aviation security.
The ICAO European Regional Aviation Security Training Centre works in co-operation with the Civil Aviation Administration of Ukraine, the International Civil Aviation Organization Headquarters.
The Standardized Training Packages based on the TRAINAIR methodology are used for training taking into account national peculiarities. The number of courses is delivered to the security personnel of aviation administration, airports and airline services. Among them there are BASIC, CARGO, CRISIS MANAGEMENT, AVSEC HOSTAGE NEGOTIATION, INSTRUCTORS, MANAGEMENT, NATIONAL AUDITOR INSPECTOR, QUALITY CONTROL and SUPERVISOR .
Airline personnel can be trained on the number of professionally oriented courses intended for flight deck crews, cabin crews, aircraft movements controlling officers, flight deck crew briefing officers, cabin crew briefing officers, airline security persons, airline security supervisors, airline heads of security, station managers, ramp coordinators, station duty managers, passenger services supervisors, airline passenger services agents, station engineers, head loaders, senior management representatives, cargo managers, catering managers, aircraft engineering managers and airline managers .
English and Russian are the languages of training. Highly skilled instructors, certified by ICAO are involved into the delivering courses. The ICAO Centre Certificates are given to trainees successfully completed the course.
The ICAO Centre has a wide experience in holding workshops for AVSEC personnel at the place of interested party. In this case the training can be carried out both in Ukraine and abroad with the minimum number of trainees 10.
